Surprise!

Last Wednesday I came from being on campus for 6 hours to find the house clean, a vase of beautiful flowers, and Brian doing the dishes.  Isn't he great?!
I found something else when I got home.  An envelope.  From Weber State. I had recently applied for the Social Work program... gulp...

Yay!!!
It's taken me such a long time to find out what I want to do. Heck, everyone else I know is graduated or super close.  I only have 12 classes left which is very exciting.  I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes I get scared and overwhelmed at what lies ahead; social work isn't a pretty job.  But I think that it will be rewarding and I won't do it forever.  Pray for me to get through the next couple of semesters.  Feel free to text me and encourage me that I can do this!!
Right...?

It's always a good time at the Messer's

Brian and I are thankful that we were able to find a place so close to our families.  We often go to our parent's houses just to hang out.  So the other day we went to the Messer's and Brett and Brian decided to play a little trick on Nya, by putting socks on her feet...

She does not look happy...
Hahaha Nya is a good sport!
Later Chloe and I decorated this sweet haunted house!  At first we tried to make it look exactly like the picture, but we kept messing up so we decided to make it the most horrific house ever; it's haunted right? It should look scary.

Yay for Halloween!
Brian and I are thinking we'll dress up as... Wolverine and Rogue!!!
What are you dressing up as this year??

Angel Baby

It's amazing how precious a little baby is; how one little girl can cast such a sweet spirit over an entire room and all the people around her.  She comes into the room and instantly the whole mood of the room changes and we all jump up to see her. It's been just over a week since dear Ruby Clawson was born and our whole family is fighting for ways to hold her.  My mom literally threatens us if she doesn't get to hold little Ruby first.  Kinda scary...
This is her on the way home from the hospital.
We all text Jake and Heather and offer to tend her ANYTIME.
We already love her so much and get excited over every little thing she does.

Wouldn't you?!?!
We're thankful for this tiny piece of heaven that came into our lives.

What a great day!!

Oh wht a day!  Saturdays are always great, but this Saturday was especially great.  Brian had a day off so we lounged around until he went golfing with my brothers.  They're always asking him to go but he's always had to work so he was excited that he was able to.  Though I think 18 holes and 5 1/2 hours later he wasn't so sure...  I'm sorry golf lovers; but 5 1/2 hours is just too much.  But he had a good time!

Luckily, I was able to tend my cousin's little girl Lexi.  Her mom Brandy has lost 35 lbs and went on show for it!  Go Brandy!  Lexi is a sweet girl and so smart.  She was saying "Wa Wa" by the time we drove to my parents house for the next great thing
My baby sister Courtney went to Homecoming with her "lover" Brandon... OOOO! I can't believe how beautiful she is.  It's like I turned the page and she's a gorgeous blonde bombshell who's a junior in high school.  Craziness.  She looks gorgeous!
Gotta have a whole crew!  Kidding.  She could wear a paper bag and still look awesome

Courtney's childhood friend Kristy, and another sister to me.  What a bunch of cuties! The whole neighborhood comes out during dance time to see all the pretty girls in their dresses

The dreaded flower pinning...

Mom to the rescue! (I never got the hang of this)

Sniff Sniff

After we saw Courtney off, Bri came home and we went to the Messer's for dinner and to see Hailey off to her Homecoming dance!!
Hailey went with Taylor Moore, I think he's the SBO President??

Here it is again :)

Dang I have cute sisters.

More lexi pictures:
She didn't have a jacket so I stuck her in mine. haha

Oh but people.  It gets better.  While Brian was playing golf with my brothers, Jake had to leave because..... HEATHER WAS HAVING CONTRACTIONS!!!!!!

Here she is folks!  Ruby Clawson at 20.5 inches, 7 lbs 15 oz.
The most precious baby I have ever seen.

Proud Grandma! (We can FINALLY say that!!!)

She has big feet already!

I'm an Aunt!

She was born on 11:38 pm October 8 and is happy and healthy!  Momma Heather is doing fabulous.

WHAT A GREAT DAY!!!!!

And I wonder why my pants don't fit

Yesterday was Brian's day off, which are rare and wonderful at the Messer house.  We slept in late (9:30), sat on the couch for a little while, cleaned up our little place in 20 minutes, then ate lunch, TOGETHER.  It was wonderful.  Most of the time Brian gets off work and isn't home until 9 or later and I get too hungry to wait so we haven't eaten together in weeks.  Eventually I had to go to work and school, but we were able to get a lot of things done and be together again at 7.  I had gotten out of class almost an hour early, and Brian was craving icecream... Where is my will to be healthy you ask?  I don't know. It vanishes after someone says "Nielsen's custard" or "vanilla and almonds."
Us at Nielsens
Then we went home and watched Deja Vu, great show!  And has some delicious stovetop popcorn with butter and salt, yum....
This was gone in 10 minutes.  We love popcorn.
And I wonder why my pants don't fit?
OH well.  Days like this are precious.

On a different note, my wonderful mother made us a blanket as another wedding gift!  Brian and I are always stealing each others blankets or pillows.  Several weeks ago Brian woke up in the middle of the night and found me bear hugging his pillow, while still using mine... so he tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Hey, can I have my pillow back?"
So for days he's teasing me and saying, yeah well you steal my pillow and telling my family how rude I am, blah blah blah.  So a few nights after that I wake up in the middle of the night.... Guess who has my pillow?  Mr. Hypocrite does.  So I tapped him on the shoulder and said,
"Hey, can I have my pillow back?" ;)
Hopefully we won't steal eachother's stuff this time because now we have a beautiful and large blanket to share.  Thanks mom!!
