The Project
My sister Ashley is the kind of person that when she sees something she likes can just say, "Oh I could make that." And she does. Kind of sickening really. I wonder what it would be like to have that kind of talent and creativity? It's nice to have dreams. ANYWAY.
This was one of those things. She took my parents old furniture set for their room and made the two matching nightstands green to put on the sides of the line for mine and Brian's wedding. It was fabulous! And now, one of them is the stand for our tv, and the other is the nightstand for our bedroom.
Beautiful. Then there was another piece of the set, a wardrobe that Ash and I decided to make yellow/gold. We didn't realized what a huge project it would be... and there were a few speedbumps along the way. Especially when you're stupid enough to uh... accidently reach for the can of black spray paint instead of the final glaze....
URG!! After a few choice words... and the mental agony that came with me thinking I would have to sand, paint, glaze, all over again, I found that I could just spray A LOT of yellow paint over it again and re-glaze. So... not as bad as I thought. And now the final piece is done!!
I love it. And now I want to do it to almost every piece of furniture I have so that I eclectic, colorful furniture all around my house! Yay!

The Messer Men
I have come to find that I married the best man in the world. Not a day goes by that he doesn't help me in some way, whether it's with chores, going to work, or just being there for me. He is sensitive, hard-working, loving, caring, crazy :) and incredibly handsome! I can hardly remember all the times I've come home from work and he's cleaned the house and bought me flowers. He is always striving to be better and do more than the day before and there's nothing that he can't do. I am so blessed. I have looked up to him ever since 9th grade (well, I guess in 9th grade I looked DOWN on him... with him being a head shorter than I am:) and throughout high school and after I seriously always said to myself, "I am going to try to be the best I can so that I can have someone like Brian Messer. And maybe one day, if I'm lucky, I can find someone that might match up to him." I just lucked out with the real thing I guess!! For all you single girls all there, there's 2 Messer men left!! Patsy got a great guy and so did I, don't let the others SLIP THROUGH YOUR FINGERS!!!!
Jack will be back in April... and uh, wait a little while for Trent since he's 11 years old. But just so you know, he loves playing Nintendo, ping pong, and telling jokes...

Honeymoon!
I've been wanting to wait until I got my reception pictures back before I put up honeymoon pics... but I'm bored at work and so I just decided to do it!!
Brian and I were SO lucky to be able to go on the best honeymoon ever! We got to go to Disneyland for a few days and then on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera! (Thank you Moore's and Messer's!)
I was so excited to go to Disneyland, and I was as giddy as a child when we got there! To top it off, Brian and I went to the Cafe New Orleans (Um, I think that's what it was called) and we had these... fries... Oh my heavens. They were expensive but were so worth it. All they were were fries, obviously, but then they had parmesan, garlic, and parsley on them. To. Die. For. And apparently I am a salmon lover now, because everytime there was an option to eat salmon, I did. And this Cafe had the best salmon sandwich I have ever had. Moral of the story: Go to Disneyland. Eat at Cafe New Orleans. Be happy.
So... To explain the picture above: I don't like the dropping feeling OKAY. Brian decided it would be rather humorous if he took me on the Tower of Terror, and as you can see, I did not like it one bit. Just kidding, it wasn't that bad :) Brian literally laughed at me for 10 minutes non-stop after seeing this picture. What a kind and sensitive husband I have. :)
We stayed in Disneyland until Sunday and then took a shuttle to our CRUISE SHIP!! Yay!!! So excited.
So after Brian pushed me in the ocean on our jet-ski ride... "Oh yeah, of course you can drive Laura, let's switch seats." PUSH. (I got him back, big time, by uh... pushing him in too) We went parasailing!! Was I nervous? Yes. But it was one of the greatest things I have ever done!! You think that it's going to be insanely windy and bumpy up in the air but you can hardly tell you're moving, and it is a huge adrenaline rush. Do it. Please. P.S. Brian was super scared up there, isn't he supposed to be the brave one in the relationship? Kidding Bri! Haha.
I didn't put up any pictures of us on Puerto Vallarta because Brian got the stomach flu on that Thursday and we hardly went out. I made him go to the doctor on Friday because he looked gray and hadn't eaten anything for over 24 hours. Poor guy. But! Luckily our cabin had 3 complimentary movies every day, haha! We love movies, and it was just great to be together.
Here's just some pictures of us on formal night and with our waiter Jeffrey. LOVE HIM. Every night, the whole restaurant would put on a "dancing show" for us, we loved it. Everyone is so great and friendly and we had the time of our lives!
And this is Pedro!! And that's all I have to say. :)

We were lucky enough to get a balcony, (again, thank you Brett and Patsy!!) and as you can see we had a great view! I think I was most excited for the food, and the 24 hour icecream machine. And I showed that excitement by getting approximately 4 plates of food every meal and at least 6 icecream cones a day. I love to cruise.
Our first and second port was in Cabo San Lucas because there is some political unrest in Mazatlan. Totally fine with us because we got to do some very fun things there! And thanks to my Spanish-speaking huband we got some great prices :)

Um.... what?
So I'm super excited that I'm blogging now... but this is stinkin' hard!! I finally got a design that sticks and think to myself, "Hey, that's pretty cute!" But then I look at other people's blogs and the thought deflates as soon as it comes, where it's replaced by thoughts like, "Hey! How did they do that?" Blogging takes work, a lot time, and creativity. Things I don't have a lot of... but I'm willing to learn :) Somedbody teach me!
